Overview:
Provides the participants with an understanding to the fundamentals of research and helps participants to develop skills and competencies in the conduct of research based on the demands of the health care work force and the public.

Learning objectives:
By the end of the lectures and the series of workshops
of this program, the Participants will be able to:
1. Distinguish between different types of study design
2. Interpret the language and terminology related to different types of study design.
3. Apply the process of recruitment of subjects, data collection and management.
4. Select the method of data analysis according to the study design
5. Interpret her/his findings in the light of the available literature.

• University junior teaching-staff Ophthalmologists, Optometrists, College-graduate nurses
• Epidemiologists and Biostatisticians
• Community Medicine-staff, Field-Project Managers

Teaching methods:
• The course will use Scenario-based teaching which uses interactive scenarios to support active learning strategies such as problem-based learning.
• Participants will work in small groups and will share learning with their peers.
• Groups will explore and validate their conception and perceptions using a reality-based scenario with the support of the course facilitators.

Final award:
Attendance certificate from The Magrabi Foundation after meeting the (pass) requirements of the course.
